Home Insurance Is Skyrocketing. Our Neighbors Cannot Afford It.
For families across Greater New Orleans and the River Parishes, home insurance costs have climbed out of reach. Devin Davis is running for Congress to fight for our future — not corporate donors’ profits — and that means taking the home insurance crisis head on.
Our Vision — Policy Platform
Protecting Residents’ Financial Security
Solving the home insurance crisis is part of a larger fight for power in our state — taking it back from corporate interests and returning it to the people.
The campaign platform rests on three pillars. Insuring our future belongs to the same plan that repairs broken infrastructure and restores communities that have been left behind.
Where the Crisis Hits Home
Skyrocketing Premiums
Home insurance costs in our region have surged beyond what many families can reasonably carry, squeezing household budgets that were already stretched thin.
Uninsured Homes
When coverage becomes unaffordable, families face a choice between a premium they cannot pay and going without protection for the home they worked years to build.
Corporate Interests
Decisions about insurance and risk are made by powerful corporate interests, not by the neighbors who live with the consequences of our broken infrastructure.
Three Pillars
Repair. Rebuild. Restore.
- RepairAddressing the immediate community needs, including the home insurance crisis burdening our families right now.
- RebuildStrengthening the infrastructure and systems that have been allowed to fail across Greater New Orleans and the River Parishes.
- RestoreReturning power to the people and protecting the financial security of the residents of our community.
Why Devin
A Fighter Born Here
Devin Davis was born and raised in Greater New Orleans and is a descendant of the River Parishes. He knows what it means to watch families in his own community struggle to keep a roof over their heads and a policy on the house.
His grandfather died of cancer contracted from working at an oil refinery — a reminder of how much is at stake when corporate priorities outrank the health and security of working people.
Across Greater New Orleans and the River Parishes, families are facing home insurance costs that have climbed beyond what many can reasonably afford. Devin Davis frames this crisis as part of a broader fight for the future of Louisiana, one that should be guided by residents rather than corporate donors and powerful corporate interests. The home insurance struggle reflects a larger concern about affordability, stability, and the basic right to remain in the communities and homes that families have worked hard to build.
The campaign’s policy vision places protecting residents’ financial security at the center of the conversation. Insuring homes is not only about individual policies; it is about the health of neighborhoods, the resilience of families, and the ability of communities across the region to thrive. Taking on the home insurance crisis means confronting the forces that have allowed costs to rise while households struggle with the burdens of rebuilding, recovering, and protecting their properties.
Devin Davis is running for Congress to fight for our future, not corporate donors’ profits, and that conviction extends to solutions shaped by the people of Louisiana. This includes supporting communities devastated by environmental and economic hardship, protecting clean air, water, and land, and ensuring that access to insurance and basic necessities does not depend on wealth or corporate influence. Joining this movement means presenting a clear vision for representation that answers to residents.
Our plan to take the power back from corporate interests and give it to the people is built upon three pillars: Repair, Rebuild, and Restore.
